About the Role
We reserve the right to close vacancies earlier than the specified date should we receive sufficient applications. If interested, please complete an application as early as possible.
This post is fixed term for two years as the service is in the process of a community asset transfer (CAT) of two sites and reopening a new site.
Lifestyles Fitness centres operate eight sites across the city consisting of swimming pools, fitness studios, sports halls and various outdoor facilities.
We are looking to recruit a Duty Manager to work at one of our facilities, including our soon-to-be reopened and refurbished facility at Lifestyles Peter Lloyd.
To be successful in this role, you will have previous supervisory experience in the leisure and hospitality or service industries and the ability to communicate clearly, influence and motivate staff. Experience of working within a health and safety critical environment with the ability to understand and implement legislation in the operational environment is essential.
The role is a key part in the operation of the site. Reporting directly to the Facility Manager, you will work within a team of Duty Managers delivering the highest level of customer service to both internal staff teams and centre users.
The role will be busy and varied, no two days will be the same. You will have a good level of autonomy and we’ll be interested in your ideas and suggestions. You will be responsible for managing the fitness facilities and team, organising events and activities, helping customers, making plans for the centre and contributing to genuinely improving peoples’ lives through leisure.
You will need a leisure related level 3 qualification, equivalent experience, or willingness to undertake formal training to achieve this.
Evening and weekend work is an essential part of the post. As this is a part time role, the salary will be pro rata to reflect this.
If you would like to talk to a member of the team about the role, please contact Steve Kearns via Steve.kearns@liverpool.gov.uk, Steve Johnson via Steve.johnson3@liverpool.gov.uk or Lauren Loughlin via Lauren.loughlin@liverpool.gov.uk
Please note that in accordance with the Council’s policy, employees who are in a formal redeployment situation will be considered in the first instance for all vacancies.
