22.5 hours per week (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 9.00am-5.00pm), Term Time Only

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Halton Adult Learning & Halton People into Jobs Team. You can help support young people with SEND to change their lives and learn something new by working with our Supported Internship Learners aged between 18-24 years. You will help the young people to develop their skills in English, Maths, Employability, and ICT to support them on their work placements and future aspirations for employment.

We are looking to appoint a Skills for Life Tutor - Adult Learning & Skills SEND Tutor for a 0.6 contract. Who is confident and has experience of teaching SEND young people or those with an Education Health Care Plan. We are keen to ensure that our SEND learners experience the best possible provision, to support them in developing their employment skills and knowledge of the workplace environment so that they can realise their aspirations to gain and sustain employment in the future.  

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Halton Adult Learning & Halton People into Jobs team. You will work with young people on our Supported Internship Programme. A programme designed to support Young People with SEND to gain a greater understanding of employment opportunities and develop their skills and knowledge in order that they can successfully complete a work placement and then aspire to sustained, paid employment opportunities.

You will be an organised, positive, enthusiastic, friendly individual who has education and achievement at the heart of your professionalism. You will want to thrive for the best outcomes for your learners to ensure they are successfully reach their goals and aims. You will have experience of teaching SEND provision and take an imaginative and innovative approach to your teaching duties to engage and support your learners to succeed and gain the skills needed to interact confidently within a community, education or work setting. You will be resilient and work positively and effectively as part of a successful team.

You will have an understanding of the Supported Internship programme and feel confident in teaching the different subject areas to develop the learners’ skills and knowledge in these areas to support their success in a work placement and work setting.
