Business Support Officer
Sefton Council’s Public Health team is seeking to recruit a Business Support Officer with strong administrative skills and a real commitment to support our work improving health and wellbeing in Sefton.
We’re looking for a proactive and highly organised person to join our friendly team who are committed to developing our people. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety in their day and takes pride in keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes. From diary management and minute-taking to data entry and event coordination, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the team’s busy schedule and ensuring everything is delivered on time and to a high standard.
You’ll need to be confident in managing your own workload, often working independently to juggle competing priorities and meet deadlines. Strong organisational and prioritisation skills are essential, as you’ll be handling a range of tasks – from preparing meeting papers and maintaining accurate records to supporting public engagement activities and responding to information requests. You’ll also collaborate with colleagues across the wider council to support the delivery of key public health objectives.
We’re looking for someone who is detail-focused, calm under pressure, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. You’ll be a strong communicator, comfortable using Microsoft Office and other admin systems, and motivated by the chance to contribute to work that makes a real difference in the community. If that sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.
For further information or an informal discussion about the role, please contact Helen O’ Reilly on Helen.Oreilly@sefton.gov.uk
