1 to 1 SEND Teaching Assistant Level 2

About the Role

To work in partnership with Class Teacher to support teaching and learning and by working with individuals and groups of children under the direction of teaching staff.  The successful candidate will play an active role as part of a professional team, helping to create a positive, inclusive and effective learning environment for all pupils.

This role will also involve providing 1:1 support for pupils who require additional help to overcome barriers to learning, including those with moderate, severe and profound or multiple learning difficulties, and/or behavioural, social, communication, sensory or physical needs.

The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate flexibility and be prepared to work across all year groups, as required, to meet the needs of the school.

Personal Qualities and Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A strong team player with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a professional staff team.
  • GCSE English and Maths (GradeC/4 or above), or equivalent.
  • Caring, patient and committed to supporting children to achieve their full potential .
  • Flexible, adaptable and willing to respond to the needs to the school.
