Teaching Assistant (Level 2) – Maternity Cover
Fixed Term: 1 January – 31 October 2026
Crosby High School is a 175-place secondary special school (ages 11–16) for pupils with moderate learning difficulties, complex learning needs, and physical disabilities.
We are seeking to appoint a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant (Level 2) to join our committed and nurturing team for a maternity cover period from 1 January to 31 October 2026.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of supporting children’s learning and wellbeing, along with the ability to provide high-quality care and guidance. Experience of primary practice and/or working with pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is desirable.
We are looking for a Teaching Assistant who:

Has strong communication skills and a positive, proactive approach.

Understands the importance of removing barriers to learning for our pupils.

Demonstrates genuine passion and commitment to the education and development of young people with SEN.

Is a team player who works effectively alongside other Teaching Assistants and teaching staff.
Some pupils may require support with personal care, which is carried out with sensitivity and teamwork. Full training will be provided to support you in this role.
