At Sefton Community Learning Service, we are seeking individuals who can make a meaningful contribution to the personal development and skills growth of our adult learners.
This is an exciting time to join us. We are exploring new ways to grow and enhance our delivery, becoming more creative, innovative and versatile in our approach to teaching.
We currently require sessional tutors to deliver courses across any of the following subject areas:
English and Maths including Functional Skills - Please see essential teaching requirements

Hospitality and Culinary Skills
Family Learning
Sewing Skills Specialist

We are looking for tutors that have:
- Experience of teaching adult learners to achieve a qualification, which is essential for all accredited programmes.
- An inspiring and innovative approach to planning and delivering learning.
- A strong commitment to providing a high‑quality, efficient service that meets learner needs and enables every learner to reach their full potential.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage and motivate adult learners.
- Proven experience in effective planning, delivery and assessment of learning sessions.
- Flexibility to deliver learning across the borough, supporting our wider communities.
- An understanding of, and compliance with, safeguarding and Prevent procedures, including reporting any concerns to the Designated Safeguarding and Prevent Lead (DSGO).
- Availability to work across a range of days, evenings and weekends to meet programme needs.
- Hours will be variable and dependent on the number of courses requested by our partners. There may be periods where no hours are available, and other times when hours are substantially higher.
