Our Team:
Our dedicated 16+ Employment to Education (E2E) Team delivers careers-focused support, tracking the education and employment activities of young people aged 16 to 18 and up to 25 with an Education Health and Care plan (EHCP). This information is reported monthly to the Department for Education.
We provide targeted advice and guidance to young people who are not in employment, education, or training (NEET), as well as those at risk of becoming NEET, encouraging them to engage in education, training, or employment opportunities.
The team are primarily based at Rutland House with flexibility for hybrid/agile working.
Hours: 22.2hrs per week, Monday – Wednesday
Your Contributions:
Our 16+ E2E Team are seeking to appoint an experienced Young People Case Worker to lead the development, management and implementation of strategies of intervention for a case load of young people who are at risk of, or are not in education, employment or training, or whose activity is not known to the Council.
The cohort of young people are academic age 16- & 17-year-olds, and those up to 25-years-old with an open EHCP. Young People Case Workers also support some pupils in Year 11 who are at risk of not progressing into Post 16 education or training.
Some of the main responsibilities of the role include:
- Assessing the needs of individuals to determine the best intervention to progress each young person to- Making referrals to other services or agencies, who will work directly with the young person
- Communicating with the young people and their families via telephone, email and messaging- Completing home visits or attending meetings with young people as required
- Liaising with other services and maintaining records
This role forms part of Halton Borough Council’s strategy to meet our statutory duties in relation to Raising the Participation Age legislation and you will contribute to the development, promotion, implementation and evaluation of the team’s work and taking a lead on areas of work that support the Team.
It is essential that you have a Level 6 qualification in a relevant field of service or management and experience of managing an area of work within services to support young people.
