Specialist Business Support Officer
36 hours / fixed term contract until June 2027
About the Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Specialist Business Support Officer to join our Safeguarding Unit within Childrens Services. This vital role involves providing high-quality administrative support, with a particular focus on accurate and timely minute-taking for a range of safeguarding meetings.
As Specialist Business Support Officer, you will be the main point of contact on the telephone, liaising with a range of professionals, outside agencies and the public, therefore effective communication and interpersonal skills will be required, together with the ability to deal with challenging behaviour.
As Specialist Business Support Officer, you will attend and minute safeguarding meetings held in person at various locations across the borough, prepare and distribute agendas, minutes, and supporting documentation. Therefore, the need to ensure confidentiality and accuracy in all records and communications is essential. You will also liaise with professionals across multiple agencies to coordinate meeting logistics and maintain up-to-date records and follow up on agreed actions.
About the candidate:
You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to record information accurately. You will be proficient in minute taking with proven experience. The successful candidates will be resilient and compassionate be able to deal with difficult situations with understanding. A strong proficency in IT appliations including Microsoft Office with good keyboard skills is essential. You should have a flexible approach, the ability to build effective working relationships and work as part of a team, be organised, understand the importance of confidentiality. You will also have a strong attention to detail and be able to prioritise workload to meet deadlines.
