About the Role
Responsible for delivering to the highest standard for some of the most vulnerable service users across the borough.
Operating out of Hawthorne Road Depot you will be responsible for service users’ needs during transportation to and from various residential, day-care and education establishments - transporting vulnerable adults and children with special educational needs.
The key responsibilities include:
- Collecting and returning service users to their homes, assisting service users at the beginning, during and at the end of their journey, providing care and comfort and ensuring safe arrival at the destination.
- Assisting service users in and out of the vehicle as per their assessment needs.
- Ensuring service users are correctly secured and supported in their seats, using harnesses where provided, checking that wheelchairs are securely fastened by means of observation prior to vehicle moving off.
- Assume joint responsibility for service users’ safety on the vehicle and should be positioned as to have good observation of the service user.
- To operate all equipment safely as trained to do so, ensuring that defects are reported.
