Marketing Officer - Leisure

Help us inspire a healthier, more active Sefton.

Sefton Council is looking for a creative and motivated Marketing Officer to help promote our leisure centres and the wide range of health and wellbeing programmes delivered through Active Sefton. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic communications and marketing team team and play a key role in increasing participation, driving income, and boosting the profile of our local leisure facilities.

What you’ll be doing

In this varied and fast‑paced role, you will:

  • Develop and deliver engaging marketing campaigns for our leisure centres, fitness memberships, swimming lessons, Splash World, and community wellbeing programmes.
  • Create high-quality content for social media, websites, email newsletters, and print materials.
  • Produce digital assets, including photos, videos, and graphics, that bring our leisure services to life.
  • Work closely with centre managers and programme leads to identify opportunities to reach new audiences and promote key services.
  • Monitor marketing performance using analytics and help shape improvements based on insight.
  • Support events, outreach activities, and customer engagement initiatives across the borough.

About you

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has experience in marketing or digital communications, ideally within leisure, fitness, or health.
  • Is confident creating content across multiple channels and managing projects end‑to‑end.
  • Is creative, organised, and able to thrive in a busy team environment.
  • Has strong communication skills and an eye for what makes a campaign effective and engaging.
