The role:
- The Markets Commercial Development & Events Manager is seen as a key role as part of the leadership of the Markets service, the successful candidate will drive the commercial growth and strategic development of the city-wide markets offer. Diversifying income streams, strengthening trader and customer engagement, curating high-quality market events and activations, and ensuring markets contribute to wider economic, cultural, and place-making objectives of Liverpool City Council
- In the role of Development & Event Manager you will develop and deliver a commercial strategy for the markets service with the Head of Markets, including pricing, occupancy, partnerships, sponsorships, and revenue diversification
- As well as use your commercial and creative flair to challenge the norm, scoping and adding new venues and different seasonal and specialist events, developing our existing offer, create exciting market layouts, increasing activations/animations to in turn increase dwell time and ensuring varied product mixes for visitors to enjoy
- The Markets Development & Event Manager will act as a senior liaison for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring seamless collaboration and an exceptional experience whether at venue/site or via community / business engagement and creation and management of commercial reporting and data analysis to support projects, planning and decision making whilst working within a budget
- You will work in conjunction with the Markets Operations Manager to ensure the planning, compliance, execution, and overall safety of those visiting or trading at a market site or event. Alongside when necessary, overseeing the day-to-day duty management of the wider markets team, consultants and contractors to ensure effective event / market delivery
- The Commercial Development & Events Manager will own and drive the marketing campaigns, brand message and trader communications for markets, working with the Liverpool City Council Communications team and colleagues across the council and externally, to use all possible methods to promote our offer, our traders, our city and championing independent business
