PART-TIME TA VACANCY (TA2)

We have a vacancy for a part-time (mornings) position for a TA in KS2.
The successful candidate will have:
- GCSE grade 5 (or equivalent) in Maths and English
- effective behaviour management skills
- current or previous employment as a KS2 TA
- relevant TA2 qualifications
- a willingness to undertake training relevant to the role
- a willingness to play an active role in the classroom team
Information specific to the role:
The successful candidate will work across a KS2 year group, supporting pupils at the direction of the class teacher. Strong maths and English skills are essential as the role holder will be expected to work with children across a range of abilities, both in the classroom and with small groups to address specific gaps.
Requirements of the role:
Working closely with the classroom team, the successful candidate will ensure all pupils access an environment that promotes the value of learning. Particular attention will be given to:
- Assistance for pupils to access learning at their own level, encouraging independence whilst embedding key skills.
- Delivery of activities and interventions in small-group format to meet the specific needs of pupils.
- Support for pupils with SEN or disabilities
- Support for class teachers in creating an environment that supports any additional needs pupils may have.
- Pastoral care as/when required by pupils.
Successful candidates will also support the school by:
- Maintaining close links between home and school.
- Liaising closely with the classroom teams to ensure consistency of approach.
- Being aware of confidential issues linked to home/school, keeping confidences appropriately.
- Assisting with the promotion/celebration of pupils' work through display at the direction of the class teachers.
- Being aware of and adhering to school policies and procedures.
- Maintaining records as per school procedures.
- Attending relevant training, including INSET days as requested.
Performing any other tasks, as directed by the Headteacher, which fall within the purview of the post.
This is a fixed term contract until the end of the summer term 2027.
