We are seeking to recruit two Driver Operatives as part of our Lates Cleansing Team with the Neighbourhood & Housing Directorate.
- As part of the role of Driver Operative you will be require to drive and operate a range of company vehicles in accordance with relevent legislation and company policy and procedures.
- Within the role of Driver Operative your duties will include litter picking public streets, shop fronts, grassed areas and highways whilst brushing, sweeping and emptying litter bins throughout the city. Removal of faeces and dead animals is part of normal duties. You will be required to drive a range of company vehicles including CX sweepers, 3.5 and 7.5 Tonne Sweepers, Refuse collection vehicles (Licence Dependent).
- As part of the role of Driver Operative, you will be required to remove any weed growth and leaf clearance throughout the city and deal with any enquires s recieved whilst working on the network. You will be required to assist with reactive tasks providing a targated and flexible response to environemental problems reported.
Weekend and back holiday working will be essential as part of this role and an additional weekend allowance of £6014 and irregular hours allowance of £4644 will be paid per annum in addition to the salary quoted.
To fulfil the requirements of the role a full UK driving licence (category B) is required. Knowledge of health and safety requirements and good verbal and written communication skills are essential.
