We are looking to recruit 11 Driver Operatives as part of our street wash team working within Liverpool City Council's Neighbourhood & Housing Directorate. 

  • The role of Driver Operative involves driving and operating a range of specialist vehicles and equipment to carry out street cleansing duties including street washing, waste management, graffiti removal and environemental maintenance. You will work both independently and as part of a team, playing a key role in delivering high-quality services, ensuring tasks are completed efficently while promoting excellent customer service and representing the Council postively. 
  • Within the role of Driver Operative you will be required to litter pick, service waste receptacles, remove animal, bird and human faeces (on occasion in restricted spaces), remove dead animals and sharps throughout the city, removal and washing of spillages including animal, bird and human blood and other bodily fluids. 
  • In the role of Driver Operative you are required to assist in the removal of fly posting and graffiti and undertake street washing operations including street furniture, chewing gum removal, oil stains/spillages, washing signs, watering planters and working at podium height, using a variety of specialist vehicles and equipment and cleaning agents and non-mechanical means. 
  • This role of Driver Operative requires the safe use of chemical applications and consideration of materials and structures to be washed. You will be required to work outdoors al year round. 

To fulfil the requirements of the role you must have a full UK driving licence category C1 & a valid Drivers Qualficiation Card (DQC/CPC). 

Please note this is a 4 on 4 off position which requires working both weekend working and bank holiday working. In addition to the salary quoted on the advert the following allowances are applicable to be paid in addition within this role £6416 additional weekend allowance and £2973 irregular hours allowance.
