About the Role

Liverpool City Region Combined Authority is leading one of the most impactful public service reform programmes nationally, and we are looking for a Place Based Budgets Lead to help with next steps.

The Government's new Place Based Budgets programme is testing how local areas can bring together funding, decision-making and services to improve outcomes for people while making better use of public money. Liverpool City Region has been selected as one of only five national areas with a focus on children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), where is already significant change and reform work under way through the recent White Paper.

This is an opportunity to work with local authorities, health, schools, government and communities to collaboratively design and deliver new ways of organising services around the needs of children and young people rather than organisational boundaries. You will enable the work to focus on improving outcomes, strengthening early intervention, increasing inclusion, reducing duplication and supporting better long-term use of public resources. The work will explore how public funding can be aligned around shared goals, helping partners to move towards a more joined-up and preventative system.

About the person

We are looking for a collaborative leader with a strong track record of delivering change and impact, building partnerships and turning plans into action.  The role is based within the Combined Authority’s pioneering Office for Public Service Innovation which is supporting local leaders to address the long standing challenges through a move to early intervention and prevention.
