Teacher of Science - Maternity Cover

Maternity Cover position for up to 12 months.

We strive to foster a love of learning through practical investigations, real-world applications of science, and the development of critical thinking skills. We want every student to leave our classrooms with a deeper understanding of how science shapes the world around them.

Our curriculum is carefully sequenced and designed to build knowledge and scientific understanding over time. At Key Stage 3, students explore the fundamental concepts of Biology, Chemistry and Physics through an engaging and broad curriculum that develops both substantive knowledge and practical skills.

Students are encouraged to ask questions, explore ideas and develop their confidence as young scientists through a range of investigative and enquiry-based learning experiences.

At Key Stage 4, we build upon the strong foundations established in Key Stage 3 as students follow the
Edexcel Combined Science and Separate Science pathways. Our curriculum develops students' analytical, mathematical and practical skills whilst preparing them for GCSE success.

Through a carefully planned programme of study, we revisit and interleave key concepts to strengthen understanding and retention, ensuring students are well-equipped to tackle examination challenges and pursue further study where appropriate. Our schemes of learning are fully resourced and continually reviewed and refined by the department.
