Hatton Hill Primary School

We are a large two-form primary school situated in Litherland with a successful and popular nursery. The Governors and Headteacher of Hatton Hill warmly welcomes applications to join our friendly, happy and thriving school.

We are seeking to appoint a motivated, energetic and skilled Premises Manager (Caretaker) to join our friendly team. We are looking for a someone who will be committed to providing a safe, secure, clean, tidy and well-maintained envirnoment for our children and staff. This is an important and valued role. 

We encourage applicants to look closely at the job description and personal specification. Previous experience within a school is not essential, but please identify suitability for the post within the written application. 

The position is permanent (Grade E, SCP 7-11), salary £24,294 - £25,979 which will be worked as 36 hours per week over a 52 week contract. Hours will be Monday-Friday 7.00 -10.30am, and 2.30-6.12pm. Annual leave is 27 days per year under 5 year's service, increasing to 32 days per year after 5 year's, and during school holidays unless agreed in advance. 

We are looking for someone who:

• will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management, safety, cleanliness and security of the school site

  • has the health, safety and well-being of the school as a priority
  • is well organised and able to work well as part of a team and independently
  • has a good level and range of DIY skills
  • has good interpersonal and communication skills
  • is prepared to make a valuable contribution to our shcool
  • has the ability to work well with colleagues
  • is able to relate well to children including those with special educational needs
  • is a team player and can be flexible in their approach to work
  • is physically fit and able to move furniture and resources around the building as well as use ladders
  • will ideally have previous premises management experience and an understanding of a busy school environment
