School Crossing Patrol Supervisor

Liverpool City Council is undergoing significant change leading to an improvement programme that involves all parts of the organisation. Highways and Transport is especially focused on delivering against its statutory duties to make Liverpool a safer and more inclusive place to live and work.
The Road Safety team is seeking the addition of a School Crossing Patrol Supervisor to be responsible for and take control of the School Crossing Patrol Officers. As part of the team you will work closely with the SCP officers to ensure things are running smoothly.
You will report to the Road Safety Coordinator and will work closely to ensure school crossings are manned and operating in line with current regulation and legislation.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the assessment, procurement and delivery of School Crossing Service programmes and policies, to agreed budgets, timescales and standards, leading to the achievement of the Service targets, as directed.
- Assist and deputise for the Road Safety Coordinator when necessary.
- Co-ordinate training.
- Supervise and Monitor attendance and performance of School Crossing Patrol Officers.
- Carry out Health and Safety Risk Assessments of crossing locations in line with agreed local Performance Indicator targets.
- Carry out Access Audits in line with Equalities requirements.
What You’ll Need:
- Possess or be working towards a formal qualification in a relevant technical discipline e.g. ONC / HNC / HND or relevant supervisory experience in road safety
- Experience of working in a road safety environment
- Experience of working effectively in cooperation with a wide range of internal and external bodies
- Experience of supervising staff
