Senior Building Control Officer
We are seeking an enthusiastic candidate to contribute to improvements in building quality through the application of the Building Regulations and associated legislation.
As a Senior Building Control Officer, you will play a key role within a team of surveyors and you will need to be qualified to degree level in a construction related discipline and have the ability to enroll for full Membership of a relevant Professional Institute (e.g. CABE, CIOB or RICS). You will also require significant Building Control experience. You will also be expected to be registered with the Building Safety Regulator from April 2024 and to achieve the appropriate level of competence assessment.
Your principal duties will include undertaking site inspections and plan vetting, in order to ensure compliance with the Building Regulations, together with the assessment of dangerous structures and safety at sports grounds.
The post will be based at our Magdalen House office in Bootle and you will also be expected to work on an agile basis. We offer flexible working hours, casual car user allowance and 28 days annual leave – rising to 33 days after 5 years service. Appointment within the salary range will be dependent on the knowledge, skills and competence of the applicants.
