An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Environmental Health Team for a permanent Principal Environmental Health Officer.

The post holder will be acting as a lead professional for the Environmental Health department, support officers carrying out complex cases or investigations and contribute to the management of the team. The post holder will be required to deputise for the Environmental Health Operations Managers and will have a supervisory role within the team.

Key duties will involve providing professional advice, implementing, and monitoring work programmes such as the food inspection plan and other district-based work. It will involve dealing with freedom of information or subject access requests. The role will enable the successful candidate to develop management skills and to be involved in and lead key projects.

Overall, you will be passionate about Environmental Health, have a positive can-do attitude and have enthusiasm to tackle new challenges and shape the future delivery of the service.
