ICT Technical Officer
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ICT Technical Officer to join our existing IT team based within the Council Head Office in Widnes, Cheshire.
This role will support the provision of a highly secure government IT platform linked to M365, Azure, on-premise technical platforms managing hundreds of third party applications across the Authority, its Schools and Partners.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to work within a busy ICT Service Desk environment. Someone wanting to learn and work toward developing the latest skills necessary to become a Senior Technical Officer or further within this full service IT Department.
This role will involve working closely with, and learning from other ICT Technical Officer(s), under the oversight of the IT Service Desk Manager.
As an ICT Technical Officer, you will be responsible for:
- Ensuring all service users have the equipment and systems access required to complete their day-to-day tasks. Providing staff with advice, support and assistance with any technical issues.
- Installing, configuring and administering the IT infrastructure including Azure/ M365 / Autopilot / Intune, Conditional Access, Servers, Printers, PCs, laptops, networking equipment, and audio-visual equipment (TVs, projectors, etc).
- Writing and updating documentation, procedures and policies for existing IT systems, services or telecommunications equipment.
- Helping ensure all security, backup and disaster recovery arrangements for hardware, software and telecommunications are in place and operating correctly.
