Head of Children's Workforce Development and Learning

We want to recruit an experienced Head of Service Workforce Development and Learning to join our leadership team to drive, motivate, support and inspire our workforce. You will report to the Director for Practice Improvement and Development and work with the Heads of Service for QA and Improvement, Performance and Systems, Operational Development and Safeguarding partnerships and the Principal Social Worker to create a strong system to enable good practice to flourish.

You will have the drive and passion to deliver excellent services and improve practice quality and standards, to ensure a positive difference and brighter future for our children and young people and their families/carers.

The role

  • Leadership and oversight of the work of the Childrens training and development service including direct management of a service managers for the Liverpool Academy
  • Supporting the strategic outcomes of the children’s training and development board and with key partners, lead the implementation of the strategy
  • Developing strong and goal-oriented core training that helps to identify learning and focus on developing competencies in a more effective way.
  • Designing training based on values, goals and actual needs and reflecting speciality requirements.
  • Commissioning quality training in line with identified needs.
  • Focusing on our offer to support permanent recruitment and career progression to attract and retain our workforce.
