Head of Children's Quality Assurance and Improvement

We want to recruit an experienced Head of Service Quality Assurance and Improvement to join our leadership team to drive, motivate, support and inspire our workforce. You will report to the Director for Practice Improvement and Development and work with the Heads of Service for Performance and Systems, Workforce Development and Learning, Operational Development and Safeguarding partnerships to create a strong system to enable good practice to flourish.

You will have the drive and passion to deliver excellent services and improve practice quality and standards, to ensure a positive difference and brighter future for our children and young people and their families/carers.

The role 

  • This role is key to lead, drive and continually review a practice quality assurance framework and associated policies, supporting learning and continued professional development of our workforce to ensure there is a continual learning ethos of practice improvement.
  • You will need to have a translatable vision about how to identify and implement cultural change through quality assurance and audit activity.
  • You will be responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of an annual business plan and regular reports by ensuring effective QA, including identification of risk and capacity issues across the held portfolio of services.
  • You will understand how to use data and benchmarking to fully inform the strategic plan and work of your service.
  • You will have had high level experience in planning for external inspections, as this is an essential part of the role.
