Principal Auditor

TEMPORARY FOR AN INITIAL PERIOD OF THREE MONTHS     

 

About the role

The Internal Audit Service provides assurance across the wide and varied activities of the Combined Authority, and this is a unique opportunity to join us as we continue our journey.

We are looking to recruit a qualified, experienced Internal Auditor to provide high quality professional support to the service on a temporary basis, initially for a period of three months.

You will join our friendly team to deliver high quality audit work across a broad range of areas, in accordance with our recently approved Internal Audit Plan for 2024-25.

You will be a CCAB (or CIMA) qualified accountant or Chartered Internal Auditor (or equivalent), with significant, demonstrable experience of internal audit, preferably gained within a public sector environment.  Enthusiastic, professional and a strong communicator, you will have a sound knowledge of the principles and application of risk-based auditing, risk management and the Public Sector Internal Audit Standards. Key attributes for the role include the ability to build strong professional relationships, and to negotiate, influence and challenge.
