An exciting opportunity has become available for a sessional position Liverpool City Council are looking to recruit a Business Support Officer for 17.5 hours per week working week one Wednesday Thursday Friday and week two Thursday and Friday at Prescot Drive Short Term Breaks. As this is a part time post the salary will be pro rata to reflect this.

Prescot Drive is a short-term breaks home offering accommodation to children and young people with Severe Learning Difficulties, Autistic Spectrum Disorder and Complex Physical Disabilities, some of whom will have associated medical needs.

The home provides short breaks for 8 Years of age up to their 18th birthday. The home also provides an emergency placement in order to support the need for longer care needs whilst more appropriate placement is planned. The home is a registered short breaks home and is regulated by OFSTED who carry out unannounced inspections. The objective of the breaks is to provide an enjoyable, stimulating and challenging set of experiences for the young people, whilst also affording their parents/carers a break. This is designed to support and maintain their home placements.

The successful applicant will be expected to provide an efficient, effective and confidential administrative business support to Prescot Drive Short Breaks Unit.

As a Business support officer, you will need to have:

  • An Enhanced DBS
  • Good Communication skills
  • A positive, kind compassionate nature.

It would be desirable if candidates have experience of working with children and young people.
