The Active Wirral Team are seeking to recruit a number of multi-sports coaches to deliver a range of holiday and half term activity programmes both in leisure centres and in the wider community. Disability sport is included.

Hours are variable depending on the activity programme. Rates of pay will be determined upon the qualifications and skills offered by candidates and start from £12 per hour.

Levels of Instructors required:

Assistant Coach:

Will support with the delivery of sports sessions by assisting with administration tasks, setting up of equipment, coaching under the direction of a Level 2 coach. Suggested necessary qualifications might include one or more of the following, Community Sports Leadership Award, StreetGames Principles of Coaching Award, A Level/ AS Level in a sports related subject. Proof of volunteering in a sports related activity.

Sports Coach Level 1:

Will assist with the coaching of a range of sports and activities under the direct supervision of a Level 2 coach. The level 1 coaches will assist and contribute to the production of lesson plans for each session delivered, also monitor, and evaluate the coached sessions and reflect on personal performance. The level 1 coach will maintain continuing professional development (CPD) in accordance with relative professional bodies and national governing bodies (NGB's). Qualifications requirements: Level 1 UKCC Coaching Qualification, First Aid and General Safeguarding.

Sports Coach Level 2:

Will prepare and deliver sports sessions without supervision. They will be responsible for the guidance and mentoring of Level 1 coaches, assistant coaches, and sports volunteers. The sports coach level 2 will prepare and be responsible for a safe coaching environment and produce coaching/lesson plans and a series of progressive coaching sessions to develop performance. The Sports Coach Level 2 will monitor and evaluate coaching sessions for the purpose of continuous development and for reporting to funding providers. They will also assist with programme marketing and promotion. Qualifications requirements: Level 2 UKCC Coaching Qualification, First Aid and General Safeguarding.
