Senior Library Assistant
A vacancy has arisen in the library service team for a Senior Library Assistant at Meadows Library. Maghull.
You will be managing a busy and active public library which is at the heart of the community. Experience of working in a customer-focussed environment will be an advantage as will a good knowledge of library practices and procedures. We are looking for someone who enjoys being part of a team that delivers creative, cultural, health and wellbeing activities. Candidates should have a flexible approach and enjoys working with the public.
This post works mainly in Meadows Library but there are opportunities to work across the other libraries. The post supervises the activities of library assistants including stock work, catalogue maintenance and the development of appropriate events and activities throughout the week.
The library service delivers fun, creative and educational activities aimed at reducing social isolation in the community. This post has an opportunity of making a positive difference to the lives of residents in the community.
Sefton Libraries engage with many community groups who use our buildings and spaces so experience of dealing with a wide variety of different external groups and their activities would be an advantage. A good working knowledge of computer and tablet use would be an advantage.
