Role overview:

Reporting to the Principal Officer - Mechanical Engineering, the Building Services Engineer - Mechanical, will lead in developing and delivering an integrated mechanical services function for the overall Merseytravel / LCRCA estate including tunnels, bus stations, Ferries terminal buildings, HQ building within a matrix structure (utilising either internal or external resources as appropriate) with particular focus and expertise in HVAC systems.

Key role and responsibilities:

• •Lead a project team to deliver an effective and efficient mechanical systems maintenance function for the organisation.
• •Develop and deliver refurbishment and renewal programmes for plant and equipment.
• •Deliver innovative solutions to improve efficiency and operational availability, and decarbonisation of the estate.
  
  

Required skills and knowledge:

• •Educated to HNC/HND level in a relevant discipline.
• •Delivery of projects in a mechanical related environment, in particular HVAC plant, BMS control systems, compressors and pressurised mechanical systems, and passenger lifts.
• •Knowledge of statutory and regulatory requirements.
• •Experience of procuring and managing external consultants and contractors.
• •Experience of delivering capital works programmes.
• •Effective organisational skills.
• •Computer literate with a high degree of ICT skills.
• •Competent in the use of programme and project management tools and techniques.
• •A current full driving licence (manual vehicles)
• •A commitment to the LCR and an understanding of its stakeholders.
