The Transport Planning team, which embraces strategic transport planning, highways and structures design and highways development control plays a vital role in supporting the Councils regeneration ambitions. Exciting and transformation projects are being developed for the town centres and a long term programme of activity, aimed at supporting active travel, improved highway safety and public realm and electric vehicle infrastructure. Sefton Council is seeking a motivated and experienced structural engineer to maintain accurate information on the Councils structural assets, complete or procure the appropriate inspections and lead on the delivery of capital improvements to the borough’s structures. The postholder will provide structural advice and input on structures related matter on Highways, Buildings, Sea Defences, and other structures for the Authority.
The postholder will play a significant role in the delivery of the Council’s ambitious growth and strategic investment programme and transformation of the borough’s transportation infrastructure in line with our emerging Low Carbon Transport Strategy.
You will collaborate with colleagues within the Highway Design Team over the delivery of improvement schemes, with colleagues in the Asset Maintenance Team and with the Transport Technical Support Service team, as necessary.
