Liverpool Children and Young People Services have high ambitions and are on an improvement journey to become outstanding. We have a new permanent locally based inspirational leadership team who have a fresh vision, dedicated to driving practice forward. It’s an exciting time to join us and be part of that change.
We are currently recruiting an experienced social worker to join us in our Adoption Service. You will have the drive and passion to deliver excellent services and improve outcomes to ensure a positive difference and brighter future for our children and young people.
You will have strong career background within children and families and have sound knowledge within Adoption, as well as having comprehensive understanding of all adoption regulations, legislation statutory guidance and processes.
The role
You will effectively manage a diverse caseload where the plan is adoption in line with policy, procedure, always being child centered in your approach. You will bring your knowledge and expertise to the role to work in analysing risk, in order to make effective decisions.
You will ensure quality standards are maintained and champion good practice to reduce risks, building on strengths through effective internal and external communication and excel in purposeful effective partnership working to undertake family finding activities.
You will have excellent assessment, report preparation and planning skills, completing in an efficient manner according to statutory timescales and you will be confident in direct working and be able to prepare Lifestory books for the child/young person.
Our improvements been recognised by Ofsted, in our monitoring visit Dec 2023 they stated;
‘At a strategic level, leaders understand the urgent necessity for the planned changes and have committed financially and publicly to supporting the detailed and wide-ranging improvement plan. Senior leaders are laying strong foundations to enable the necessary improvements to be delivered. Strategic priorities were quickly identified, and responded to, following the last inspection.’
