Assistant Headteacher

The Governors of our Lady Star of the Sea School are looking to appoint an Assistant Headteacher to play a significant role in school improvement. We are looking for someone to join our Senior Leadership Team with responsibilities to lead RE and Mental Health and Well-being across the school. The role will also involve being part of the Pastoral Team as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Officer. The role will have a 0.4 teaching commitment.

The ideal candidate will:

  • work in partnership with the Headteacher and SLT to ensure our school is the best it can be.
  • be passionate about making a difference and developing the true potential of all our children
  • be ambitious with recent senior leadership experience
  • be highly motivated and demonstrate determination, imagination and initiative
  • have the ability, desire and dedication to maintain and strengthen links with parents, governors and the wider community.
  • Have an excellent knowledge of the RE curriculum and be sympathetic to the ethos and values of a Catholic Education
  • Be able to demonstrate an understanding of the role of Mental Health Lead
  • have some experience of the role of Deputy Safeguarding Lead or be willing to learn it
