Liverpool City Council is looking to recruit a permanent Team Leader to join our Housing Options Service within Neighbourhoods and Housing Directorate.
The Service works with people in housing need and those who are potentially homeless to identify their housing and support needs. We work proactively with Council colleagues and external partners in order to provide tailored advice and assistance in order to achieve appropriate solutions for service users.
We are looking for a Team Manager who has strong homelessness experience ideally having managed Homeless Prevention and Assessment officers and with a proven track record of delivering good outcomes to those at risk of homelessness.
Your ability to provide dynamic, creative and innovative leadership through high quality performance management and staff management skills, knowledge and experience will enable you to manage a team of staff to deliver a high quality service.
The main purpose of the role is to deliver a high-quality customer focused homelessness service including:
- Improving outcomes for homeless households
- Reducing use of Bed and Breakfast and associated cost pressures
- Meeting our statutory duties under Homeless Reduction Act
You will identify the support needs of service users and make appropriate referrals to other Council teams and external agencies. This will include assisting households to access and signposting to other statutory, non-statutory and voluntary agencies where relevant.
We are therefore seeking enthusiastic individuals and team players to make a difference to the Service. There is opportunity to use and develop your skills within a fast-paced, progressive service with a can do approach to delivery. This is also an excellent opportunity to progress your career working for a large local authority.
