Sefton Council is seeking to recruit an experienced Transformation Programme Manager to lead the delivery of transformation projects of varying size and degrees of complexity, and to make a positive impact across the council in this role.

This is a key role working with the council’s Senior Leadership Team to provide the specialist capability and positive to develop the transformation programme in response to Corporate Plan and strategic Improvement Plan and requirements of the statutory intervention.

Demonstrable skills in facilitation, stakeholder engagement, strategic thinking and presentation are essential, as you will be expected to develop relationships at senior management level and influence at board level.

Exemplar programme and project management skills, and proven experience of successfully shaping and delivering large-scale programmes and projects in a similar environment that deliver positive outcomes, is essential.

You will manage the council’s team of Strategic Support Officers, so excellent people management and leadership experience, and proven ability to motivate and lead a multi-disciplinary team is also essential. You will also be expected to make a significant contribution to the development of method and expand knowledge base within the practice.

A degree or equivalent in Programme and Project Management or substantial relevant experience is essential. A degree or equivalent in Leadership & Management is also essential.

The post is directly accountable to the Assistant Director, Strategic Support.
