Specialist Officer - Digital Archives (Part Time, 17.5 Hours Per Week)
A vacancy has arisen for a Specialist Officer - Digital Archives (17.5 hours per week) in the Liverpool Record Office on the Archive Floor of Liverpool Central Library.
Your role will consist of supporting the Team Leader - Archives and the Service Management Team with the management and development of digital services, projects and strategies within the Liverpool Record Office, and enable the delivery of excellent Library, Archive and Heritage services to the public on a citywide, regional and national basis.
This is a specialist professional and knowledge based position that requires partnership work and networking with both internal and external partners and stakeholders.
You will be required to deliver programmes of public engagement, research support and access with the public and educational and leaning organisations, and establish and maintain partnerships with stakeholders to improve and develop archive and special collections.
You will be responsible for volunteer recruitment, management and coordination, including specialist training. You will also have some responsibility for income generation through the development of digital initiatives within the department.
It is essential that you have experience of good practice and knowledge of digital archives and electronic prepartion and storage. Knowledge of Calm cataloguing and Preservica would be an advantage. This also includes the maintenance and development of a digital archive environmental to standards necessary to preserve National Archives Accreditation.
Please note that as the role is part time, the salary will be pro rata.
