1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant - Nursery

Job Requirements
The Governors of St William of York Catholic Primary School are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, patient and caring Teaching Assistant to work with and contribute to our successful and hardworking team. The post is fixed term for one year as it is subject to SEN High Needs funding. This will continue depending on satisfactory performance & continuation of funding. The post is to work with and support a child with specific needs on a one to one basis in our Nursery. We are happy to consider applicants with a TA2 or TA3 qualification. The hours of work are either;

8.30am to 12pm Monday to Friday or 12pm to 3.30pm Monday to Friday  

Start Date asap/ Term Time only 

The successful candidate will have:
Relevant qualifications and experience suitable for working with children in a Nursery setting.
• An ability to work as part of a close and friendly team.
• A high level of patience and understanding.
• Enthusiasm and passion about working with children to support their needs and help them reach their potential.
• Excellent basic skills in literacy, numeracy and good spoken English.

  • Is able to support the care and welfare of children;
  • Will regularly report on pupil progress and will contribute to observation and assessment;
  • Can work effectively as part of a team, has excellent communication skills and is committed to building positive relationships with pupils, parents and staff;
  • Able to support pupils who have complex special needs.
