The Governing Body is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed and well-qualified non-teaching Head of Year (Pastoral).
The Head of Year (Pastoral) is responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our children and their families by delivering high quality interventions. The postholder will act as the point of contact for their relevant year group, offering support focusing on outcomes.
You will work within an agreed framework, as a source of support, advice and expertise within the school. You will look after the wellbeing of students within the year group, whilst monitoring and promoting the importance of good attendance. The role also involves supporting students during their re-integration into mainstream lessons from any off-site provision.
The work involves collaboration with parents, external agencies, partners and colleagues, and representing the school at a wide range of professionals meetings, core groups and reviews.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a school setting, excellent inter personal skills, and the ability to contribute positively to student learning. This is an exciting opportunity for a positive, enthusiastic and committed individual.
You will need to work well in a team, and have the highest expectations to ensure our students achieve great outcomes. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who wish to develop in a supportive, well-resourced and exciting environment.
If you can inspire, encourage, achieve, enjoy working with young people and are determined to make a real difference you could be the kind of person we are looking for.
Our recent Ofsted inspection (February 2024) evaluated our provision as ‘Good’ in all areas, and highlighted many strengths in our school including the behaviour and attitudes of our students. We are oversubscribed and also benefit from a Primary School, that is part of our Multi Academy Trust, which has located on our site from June 2022. This is a very exciting time to join our school as we continue our journey to become an outstanding school.
Litherland High School is committed to safeguarding children and promoting the wellbeing of young people. An appointment will only be confirmed if a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure is obtained from the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS), and will be subject to references.
