Following the announcement of the retirement of our highly regarded headteacher, an exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a new leader at St John's Church of England Primary School, Waterloo. The governing body seeks a dynamic candidate who will develop and uphold our school’s Christian vision, values and ethos and maintain high expectations for all pupils.

We are actively seeking a headteacher who can align with our Christian vision which guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values form the foundation of teaching and learning, fostering an environment that prepares our pupils to be happy, confident, aspirational and active contributors to their community and the wider world. We are seeking a candidate who will maintain and further strengthen the links between the school, its parish church of Christ Church with St. John, the other Anglican churches in Waterloo and the Diocese of Liverpool.

The school seeks to enable all pupils and adults to live ‘life in all its fullness’. The core Christian values of love, friendship, perseverance, trust, courage, respect and compassion are at the heart of the school’s daily life. As headteacher, we expect you to embody the vision and values, fostering a happy, caring, secure, and stimulating environment. The ideal candidate will effectively communicate the vision and values to the whole school community and lead our talented staff team in enhancing the already well-established standing of our ‘highly effective Church school’ (SIAMS 2023).
