Net Zero Projects Junior Officer

18-month fixed term role with an opportunity to extend subject to funding.

Working as a Net Zero Projects Junior Officer during this exciting chapter in climate action is a fantastic opportunity. We are looking to recruit two motivated and committed individuals who will provide project management support to ensure the smooth and effective planning, management and co-ordination of a Public Buildings Decarbonisation Programme.  

The roles will provide direct support to the newly appointed Buildings Engineer and Public Buildings Decarbonisation Lead as the team delivers energy solutions, tools, guidance and investment cases across the North West for large estates organisations.

 

About the role:

You will play a key part in supporting Public Sector Buildings Decarbonisation projects across the North West. Part of the North West Net Zero Hub programme, you will support growing the capacity of the region to act on Net Zero. The North West Net Zero Hub Team is a group of project development and energy and environmental sector professionals who lead on some of the most exciting and transformational projects across the North West. The Team is based within the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority working with partners across the North West.

 

About the person:

  • You will have a passion for the net zero agenda.
  • You will support the North West Net Zero hub to design and deliver projects.
  • You will be familiar with gathering numeric and qualitative data to support recommendations.

 

Required skills and knowledge:

  • You will have a relevant Energy, Environmental or other relevant Undergraduate degree or degree level apprenticeship with 2.1 Honours or above or have a demonstratable passion for the sector and be willing to undertake relevant training to support the role.
  • You will work effectively in teams.
  • You can communicate ideas effectively and present work clearly.
  • You will have paid or voluntary work experience in which you managed your own time and workload, demonstrated initiative, and delivered results. Preference will be given to those with an understanding or interest in net zero carbon field.
