‘Knowsley Council is an award-winning Local Authority, named Local Authority of the Year in the MJ Awards 2024.  Come join us and be part of our future success!’

As a result of internal promotion and subsequent senior officer restructure within Early Help and Children’s Social Care at Knowsley Council, an exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit to an important role of Head of Prevention and Interventions.

Do you have strong evidence of your experience as a senior leader in Children’s Services? Are you passionate about leading a range of teams to deliver high quality services to children and families?

Are you passionate about prevention and the impact this can have on the reduction in demand on high-cost services?

Do you have the skills and experience to deliver services that consistently evidence improved outcomes for children, demonstrate the impact on the reduction in risk/need, whilst are sustainable and efficient?

Do you enjoy working with passionate staff who truly care about what they do, a senior leadership team who work together to achieve a shared vision and a corporate team who wrap their support around Children’s Services to achieve positive outcomes?

If so, you may be the perfect candidate for this role. At Knowsley Council we accept a CV rather than a lengthy application form. However, please consider the Person Specification to evidence your relevant skills, knowledge and experience.

We promote applications from all sections of the community, regardless of background, belief, or identity, recognising the value that diversity brings to our organisation. We particularly welcome applications from individuals from Black and Minority Ethnic backgrounds and candidates with disabilities as we acknowledge their underrepresentation in our workforce.

At Knowsley Council we will consider requests for flexible working.  For most roles, the following types of flexibility are usually possible: flexible hours, working from home, compressed hours, part-time.

We reserve the right to close this vacancy earlier than the specified date should we receive sufficient applicants.

At Knowsley we value our applicants and want them to feel well-informed and welcomed.
