Ideally you would have some experience and/or knowledge of adults with learning disabilities and autism. We have the following vacancy to extend and enhance the current social work team which started its work in June 2024.
- Lead Practitioner
An exciting opportunity has arisen in Adult Social Care within Sefton Council for the permanent position of lead practitioner of the new adult Learning Disability and Autism social work team
Job requirements:
As a lead practitioner working within a learning disability and autism team you will be responsible for fulfilling the Local Authorities statutory duties under the Care Act. Other duties will be to support the Team Manager in the management, development, and leadership of the social work team in order to deliver high quality person-centred and strength-based assessments and support plans that address the needs of young people and adults with learning disabilities and autism through the commissioning of individual packages of care that lead to improved outcomes, whilst managing the reputation of the Service and the Council.
- A qualified and experienced social worker registered with Social Work England.
- To support social workers in managing their caseload as well as providing effective and regular supervision.
- To support with the development and running of the newly established team.
- Previous experience of working within a social work team supporting adults with learning disabilities and/or autism would be advantageous.
- To deputise where required in the absence of a Team Manager
