Arboricultural Operative
Are you a qualified arborist looking for a new opportunity in the public sector?
Halton Borough Council is looking for an enthusiastic and qualified Arboricultural Operative to work within our in-house Arboricultural Team across our sites including parks, streets, woodlands and local nature reserves.
Reporting to the Team Leader – Arboriculture, the team carry out day to day delivery of arboricultural maintenance services on Council sites as directed, including the felling of dangerous trees and the planned maintenance of the Council’s tree stock, in accordance with industry best practice.
The role requires the successful candidate to possess excellent arboricultural skills including climbing to include tree pruning, crown works, dismantling and felling.
This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate, with the opportunity for training and development being provided to keep your skills up to date.
You will be required to hold and maintain the relevant qualifications and certificates in order to perform the functions of the role. This will include chainsaw operator’s certificates and climbing qualifications.
A sample, but not exhaustive list of suitable qualifications is listed below:
- Level 2 Certificate of Competence in Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross-cutting
- Level 2 Certificate of Competence in Tree Climbing and Aerial Rescue
- Level 2 Certificate of Competence in Branch Removal and Crown Reduction
- Level 3 Certificate of Competence in Felling and Processing Medium Trees over 380mm and up to 760mm
- Level 3 Certificate of Competence in Aerial Tree Pruning
