Buildings Engineer
This is a 2-year fixed term role with an opportunity to extend subject to funding.
Working as a Buildings Engineer, part of the Net Zero Hub Programme during this exciting chapter in climate action is a fantastic opportunity. We are looking to recruit a motivated and committed individual who will build capacity and capability across local authorities, business and communities to support Building Decarbonisation.
Working closely with the Department of Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) your primary focus will be on non-domestic buildings and public sector estates developing heat decarbonisation strategies and investment plans.
About the role:
You will play a key part in supporting non-domestic building decarbonisation across the North West. Part of the North West Net Zero Hub programme, you will assist in growing the capacity of the region to act on Net Zero. You will lead a team of Junior Officers as they expand their skills in this growing sector.
The North West Net Zero Hub Team is a group of project development and energy and environmental sector professionals who lead on some of the most exciting and transformational projects across the North West. The Team is based within the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority working with partners across the North West.
About the person:
- You will have a passion for the net zero agenda,
- You will be an expert in building physics, heating and energy systems as well as energy efficiency and control systems
- You will be experienced in stakeholder engagement or change management
Required skills and knowledge:
- You will have a relevant degree or HND/HNC with relevant experience
- You will be able to demonstrate an understanding of technical/ building and building services engineering issues and to be able to identify solutions for low carbon transition from evidence-based processes
- You will be an effective communicator presenting work clearly
- You will understand how your work contributes to the wider impact on local people and the economy
