Employment Liaison Officer

We are looking for committed individual who has experience of successfully engaging with employers/businesses to work within the Council’s Employment, Learning and Skills division.
You will develop and maintain effective relationships with local employers and act as a key contact for identified skills and recruitment opportunities within these businesses.
Working under the direction of the one of the Service Managers, you will undertake a targeted number of business calls (telephone/virtual) to source suitable paid/unpaid employment opportunities. This will be achieved through effective employer engagement activity, job matching and preparing individuals for interview or assessment including one to one and group workshops.
You are required to undertake accurate job matching of customers to available skills and recruitment opportunities so that successful and sustainable employment outcomes are maximised and customer and stakeholder satisfaction is achieved. This will involve desk top analysis as well as delivery of regular group workshops, which will provide more intense support for particular job and work experience vacancies.
The post will involve gaining a good understanding of the skills and abilities of the clients and the type of vacancies they are best suited to and use job matching skills to determine suitable route ways, ILM’s, Supported Internships, including sector based/bespoke opportunities. 1:1 face to face support and delivery of group workshops such as pre-screening sessions to clients will be required.
You will be required to maintain accurate and timely electronic (and where necessary paper based) records of all employer engagement/sales interventions via the in-house Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. Including updating and circulating daily/weekly vacancy bulletins.
