Senior Procurement Officer

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority procurement team for a Senior Procurement Officer. The team is focused on offering value for money outcomes, transforming the way our services are delivered and driving social value through our tender processes. 

You will be providing timely specialist procurement advice to both senior managers and stakeholders including the requirements of the contract procedure rules and all other procurement related legislative requirements including the Public Contract Regulation.

Undertake relationship and performance management of suppliers, monitoring contracts to ensure compliance with agreed sums, benchmarking market prices, ensuring benefits such as social value have been delivered.

 

About the person

  • -Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with external organisations/suppliers to negotiate the best possible outcomes
  • -A good understanding of public procurement legislation, procurement approaches, techniques, processes, policy and strategy
  • -Proven experience working within a procurement role
  • -An understanding of how procurement activity is organised, commercial awareness and procurement skills
  • -Experience of contract and supplier performance management
  • -Good people skills and experience of developing and maintaining good relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders
  • -CIPS level 4 qualification & experience within Public Sector experience
