The role:
This is a fantastic opportunity for FIVE recently qualified graduates to join Knowsley Council to support the development of high impact work programmes to make a difference to residents and communities.
Knowsley Council has five key departments, and during the two-year programme you will participate in three eight-month placements across three of the five services. This rotation programme will give you an extensive overview of local government and the opportunity to develop a range of occupational skills and knowledge through involvement with key services on a variety of projects including collaboration and partnership working. Through involvement in the design, delivery and evaluation of a range of projects and programmes you will have a desire to improve the support we provide to our Knowsley residents and also participate in a range of engagement activities across the Council workforce.
Across all placements, you will use relevant research and council systems to produce and analyse key data, reports and management information; using this to help inform strategic and operational planning, decision making and supporting the delivery of priorities across the Council.
You will work as part of a team to look at new and improved ways of working and help to develop sustainable solutions to complex challenges. You’ll develop essential skills and knowledge on the job as well as a structured programme of development, mentorship, networking and peer support, master classes and the opportunity for a work based qualification. This combination of inputs and your own desire for success will equip you with the ability to contribute to enhancing the lives of Knowsley residents through efficient delivery of our services.
