Sefton is a vibrant local authority on a journey of aspiration and ambition as it works towards delivering its exciting Vision 2030.  This journey is shared with our partners and communities as we strive to ensure Sefton is a confident and connected Borough.

Sefton has the best of both worlds, from the vibrant city of Liverpool to the south, to miles of fantastic coastline and respected green spaces in the north. The borough is internationally recognised for its outstanding natural beauty and commitment to sustainability.

Sefton has a strong track record of partnership working and place leadership, and for having a motivated and dedicated workforce that is resilient and adaptable, it puts the Council in the best possible place to meet the challenges and opportunities ahead.

About this role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Adult Social Care team in Sefton. A busy and vibrant department providing statutory services across the borough, we are looking to recruit a PA to our Executive Director, Adult Social Care and Health (DASS).

The successful applicant will have experience of providing a comprehensive and confidential executive level personal assistant support service.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing comprehensive support to the Executive Director in diary management, co-ordination of appointments and acting as first contact.
  • Producing, distributing documents for meetings, and monitoring, tracking and co-ordinating follow up actions, decisions from committee and other meetings.
  • Undertaking basic research as required and compiling summary briefings.
  • Identifying urgent/sensitive matters and escalating/signposting as appropriate.
  • Responding to general correspondence and enquires both verbal and in writing from elected Members, Sefton residents, Directors, Assistant Directors, Senior Officers and External Organisations.

Excellent interpersonal skills are essential as well as an ability to prioritise work and be I.T. proficient.

Priority will be given in the first instance to any applications received from Council employees that have been formally identified as 'at risk'.

CVs will not be accepted. Please take time to consider your experience and ensure you demonstrate this in each point on the person specification.
