Cemeteries Officer
An exciting opportunity has arisen in Sefton Council to appoint a 36-hour perminant role for as a cemetery officer to work in the cemeteries department for Sefton Council.
The role sits in the burials and cremations Team, within In House Operational Services based in Thornton Garden of Rest cemetery but also covering the 4 cemetery sites within the Borough.
As part of the team in this role you will be responsible for all cemetery duties as well as assisting with maintenance works, customer care, grave digging, funeral preparation, overseeing the operational burial process and back filling, as well as assisting the cemetery supervisor to ensure that due care and attention to detail is at the highest standards in line with Sefton Council policies and the Job Description related to this role..
As a cemetery officer you will be tasked with ensuring safety is always monitored and any issues reported to be resolved immediately as well the process of memorial checks, grave checks, ashes burials and full burials are correctly identified.
The cemetery service undertakes circa 600 burials per annum and provides a high-quality service to the bereaved.
This is an exciting time to join the team at Sefton as the service is now on a journey to become more digitally friendly and provide a more modern funeral service to the people of Sefton and surrounding areas.
