Crematorium Operative – Thornton and Southport Crematoria
An exciting opportunity has arisen in Sefton Council to appoint a 36-hour permanent role for a Crematorium Operative in Sefton Bereavement Services Team.
The role sits in the Bereavement Services Team, within In House Operational Services based in Thornton Garden of Rest/Southport Crematorium.
As part of the team in this role you will be responsible for all cremation duties of the deceased as well as chapel duties and maintenance works, customer and deceased care, and memorial queries throughout the year and ensuring that due care and attention to detail is at the highest standards in line with Sefton Council policies and the Job Description.
As a Crematorium Operative you will be tasked with ensuring safety is always monitored and any issues reported to be resolved immediately as well the process of undertaking the cremation of the deceased is dignified and respectful at all times
The Crematoria service undertakes circa 2500 cremations per annum as well as 600 burials per annum and provides a high-quality service to the bereaved.
This is an exciting time to join Bereavement Services at Sefton as the service is now on a journey to become more digitally friendly and provide a more modern funeral service to the people of Sefton and surrounding areas.
