Careers & Skills Officer - Liverpool City Region Careers Hub

About the Role

We’re looking for 5 x Careers & Skills Officers to support the Careers Hub in its delivery of careers and skills education across the city region. 

The successful applicant will need to be a highly motivated and committed individual.  You will need to have strong stakeholder engagement, project management and collaboration skills to support both education and business establishments to ensure that every young person in the city region has a meaningful and impactful careers programme enabling them to find their best next step. 

Liverpool City Region Careers Hub supports 147 secondary schools and colleges across the Region to ensure that every young person receives outstanding, relevant careers education. 

Funded by The Careers & Enterprise Company, the national body for careers education in England, and in partnership with LCR Combined Authority, we bring together education, training providers, businesses, and careers professionals to improve how we prepare young people for their next steps.

This role will support the wider Careers Hub team to engage with schools, colleges, training providers and employers to improve careers education and secure better outcomes for Liverpool City Region young people.  You will implement and develop the Careers Impact System with specific responsibility for continuous improvement and quality assurance and deliver key projects to maximise impact and outcomes.  

 

About the person

We’re looking for people who will play a central role in the Liverpool City Region Careers Hub - people with the passion and drive to help deliver its strategic vision alongside the Strategic Lead as part of a high-performing team.

The ideal candidates will have a strong background in stakeholder engagement, with proven experience in planning and delivering programmes or projects, and communicating effectively with a range of audiences. They will also have a track record of building meaningful relationships with business leaders, along with a solid understanding of school environments, the challenges they face in delivering careers education, and the wider context of careers provision and corporate social responsibility.

 

Required skills and knowledge: 

  • •‍ Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • •‍ Excellent people skills with the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships and key stakeholders, both internally and externally.
  • •‍ Dynamic and a creative problem solver who can deliver new ways of working and adapt quickly to the needs of different stakeholders.
  • •‍ Excellent planning and organisational skills with a keen eye for detail and the ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines, multitask, and manage time effectively.
  • •‍ High level of ICT skills and experience working with databases/CRM systems and spreadsheets.
  • •‍ To be self-sufficient in the use of MS Office applications, in particular Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • •‍ The ability to work strategically as part of a team and use initiative.
  • •‍ A commitment to the LCR and an understanding of its stakeholders.
  • •‍ An ability to demonstrate our core values, including a commitment to Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion.
  • •‍ Experience of contributing within a high-performance culture.
