Are you an experienced administrator and team leader with a passion for supporting adult learning and community development? Sefton Community Learning Service is seeking a dynamic Support Team Supervisor to lead our front-of-house and administrative operations.
About the Role
As Support Team Supervisor, you will oversee the reception and administrative functions of our busy adult learning service. You’ll supervise a small team, ensuring high standards of customer service, accurate learner records, and compliance with funding and quality frameworks. This is a key role supporting our Senior Management Team to deliver a responsive, inclusive, and high-quality learning experience for local residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate administrative and reception staff, including volunteers.
- Ensure all customer-facing areas are welcoming, professional, and well-maintained.
- Maintain accurate learner records and monitor progression, achievement, and satisfaction.
- Support compliance with funding eligibility and quality standards (Ofsted, GDPR, Matrix).
- Manage financial processes including petty cash, stock ordering, and invoice reconciliation.
- Lead continuous improvement in front-of-house services and learner engagement.
- Represent the service in outreach and engagement activities across the borough.
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has experience supervising staff and working in busy reception environments.
- Is confident managing administrative systems and ensuring compliance.
- Communicates effectively with learners, staff, and external partners.
- Is highly organised, resilient, and able to manage competing priorities.
- Has a commitment to equality, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration or Information, Advice & Guidance.
- Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office and case management systems.
- Experience managing financial processes and learner data.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
